Lady Tigers win second area match

Hartselle’s volleyball team picked up its second straight area win and improved to 12-7 on the season with a three matches to none decision against Cullman’s Lady Bearcats Thursday afternoon.

Playing in front of a home-standing crowd for the first time, the Lady Tigers easily out-classed the visitors 25-6, 25-11, 25-10. They relied heavily on a strong front line of hitters, including Taylor Dellinger, Taylor Lybarger, Kaylee Shelton and Haley Jared, with Melissa Paul Hill playing a key role as the setter.

Dellinger led the team in kills with eight. She also had an assist, a block and three digs. Haley Jared scored seven kills and also had two blocks, two aces and three digs. Lybarger had six kills, an assist, an ace and eight digs. Kaylee Shelton scored five kills and had an ace and two digs, Melissa Paul Hill had 26 assists, two kills and two digs and Sarah Ellen Battles had 14 digs and an ace.
