Letters to the Editor

By Staff
Historical Society , Fine Arts Committe appreciate support
Editor:
The Hartselle Historical Society and Hartselle Fine Arts Committee appreciate the support of our state senator and state representatives, the Morgan County Commission, individuals and businesses for their continued support of our special project. To date, we have raised more than $530,000 to renovate the historic F.E. Burleson building. It has been used for Camp “Art”selle to encourage elementary students to participate in drama, dance, art and music. Several performances by the College Street Players have been enjoyed by the community. The Hartselle High School Drama Department has used the auditorium for their performances. Other activities include the Morgan County Spelling Bee, political, birthday and Christmas parties, meetings, school functions, Boy Scouts and many other activities. For rental information, call 773-0708.
Our focus at the present it to complete a room upstairs for a recreation area, add stage curtains and install and elevator to make the building handicap accessible. A museum to store and display memorabilia of Hartselle and preserve our history is included in our plans. With the community’s continued support, these will be completed.
Volunteers are always needed and would be welcome. If you have special skills for renovating older buildings, or would like to be involved in the arts, contact Jennifer Sittason at 773-0478. As a 501-c-3 tax exempt non-profit organization, donations will be accepted and a receipt mailed. The mailing address is PO Box 852, Hartselle, AL 35640.
Again, we say thank you to a wonderful and supportive group of citizens.

Resident thanks Hartselle officer
Editor:
Recently, I had a small accident but my health issues were anything but due to a virus.
Thanks to Officer Guest who arrived within two minutes, assessed the situation and had Samaritan Ambulance there within two more minutes.
Had it not been for my grandchildren, Officer Guest, Samaritan Ambulance, Hartselle ER and our Heavenly Father, I would not have survived.
Again, thank you Officer Guest. Hartselle Police Department surely must be proud of you.
