Mayor Livingston wins reelection in Eva

Eva’s mayor and two incumbent town councilmen won reelection in the Municipal Election on Aug. 26. A fourth race involving six candidates for a council seat resulted in a runoff.
Incumbent Gary Livingston easily defeated his challenger, Chris Ryan, in a race for the mayor’s office. Livingston collected 184 votes while Ryan picked up 28 votes.
Incumbent town councilman James Henderson won over Jerry Miner in a race for Place 4. Henderson received 125 votes while Miner got 90 votes. Incumbent Bert Collin s came out on top in a race for the Place 5 seat. He defeated John Hipps, 127 to 88 votes.
A race for the Place 2 seat remained unsettled as none of six candidates received a majority. The two candidates with the most votes were Brandlee Shadden with 84 and Donald Allison with 40. They will face each other in a runoff on Sept. 23.
Clayton Earwood came in third with 33 votes, John Babchak was fourth with 22 votes and Martin “Bear” Nelson and Brian Brown tied for fifth with 18 votes each.
