A graveside service for Alice Jeffers Phillips, 84, of Decatur will be Fri., Aug. 24, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thur., Aug. 23, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Phillips died Tues., Aug. 21, 2012. She was born Aug. 4, 1928, in Georgia to William Raymer Jeffers and Ester Izory Wright Jeffers. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Ninth Street Methodist Church in Decatur and worked as a nurse at Decatur General Hospital for 37 years. Her husband, James Thomas Phillips, preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Ford and husband Bobby of Hartselle; a brother, William Harvey Jeffers of Flint, Mich.; and two sisters, Margaret Bell Jeffers Cunningham of Waterford, Mich. and Reba Jane Jeffers Allison Hartwick of Clio, Mich.
