Emmett Corlew Jr.

Funeral for Emmett Corlew Jr., 69, of Danville was Sunday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronald Ozbolt and Bro. Mike Vest officiating.
Burial was in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Corlew died June 19, 2008. He was born Jan.16, 1939, in Mississippi to Emmett Corlew Sr. and Margaret Swann Corlew. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a graduate of Mississippi State University and was retired from both Continental Grains and Aviagen Inc. of North Alabama. He was a longtime member of Danville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy Smith Corlew of Danville; a son, Phillip Corlew Sr. and wife Tammy; four daughters, Penny Peebles and husband Graham, Paula Moore and husband Chris, Pam Newton and husband Bruce and Paige Naylor and husband Jack; and six grandchildren, Blake Moore, Jordan Corlew, Phillip Corlew Jr., Mackenzie Rowland and Corey and Cooper Naylor.
Pallbearers were Gary Templeton, Greg Templeton, Barry Templeton, Hobert Pruitt Jr., Steve Garner, Roy Brazeal and Jimmy Wallace.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Templeton, John Morgan and Bobby Hart.
Memorials may be made to CDD NCA, Early Childhood Program, 1602 Church St., Decatur.
