Giffin, White announce plans
Mr. and Mrs. Al Giffin of Auburn announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Allyn Giffin to Britt Allen White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dudley White of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Cochenour of Daytona Beach, Fla. and the late Rev. and Mrs. Patrick Giffin of Gainsville, Fla. A 2002 graduate of Gaither High School, she will receive her master of science degree in education from Auburn University in May. She plans to teach science in the North Alabama area.
The future groom is the grandson of Emily Knight and the late Lewis Vernon Knight of Wadley and the late Mr. and Mrs. D. Alan White of Decatur.
A 2002 graduate of Hartselle High School, he will receive his doctorate of pharmacy from Auburn University in May.
He will be employed with Publix Pharmacies in Madison and Huntsville.
The wedding is planned for May 12 at 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Opelika.
Laney, Meadows to wed
Johnny and Janet Laney of Cullman and Barry and Denette Blackwood of Addison announce the engagement of their daughter, Kalie Blackwood, to Tron Meadows, son of Jim and Sandra Meadows of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Herman Blackwood of Addison, Mr. and Mrs. O.T. Laney of Vinemont, Linda Hauster and Rafard McCurley of Addison and the late Ethel Brannon, Loyd Brannon and Willodene Blackwood. A graduate of West Point High School and Wallace State Community College, she is attending Athens State College. She works at Redstone Arsenal with close combat weapon systems.
The future groom is the grandson of Larry and Peggy Parr of Hartselle, Velma Meadows of Hartselle and the late Floyd Meadows. He is a 2003 graduate of Hartselle High School and is employed with Parr Contracting.
The wedding is planned for May 17, 2008 at Founders Hall at Athens State.
