A graveside service for Melvin Smith, 92, of Falkville will be Sat., July 14, at 11 a.m. at Cook Cemetery with Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery.

There is no visitation scheduled.

Mr. Smith died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Decatur General Hospital. He was born May 27, 1920, in Morgan County to Elbert Julius Smith and Amner Bradford Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine Smith; and a daughter, Margaret Murphy.

He is survived by three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
