First opponent enters Hartselle BOE race

The last appointed Hartselle Board of Education now has an opponent in the race for the city’s first elected school board.
City Clerk/Controller Rita Lee said Marguerite “Micki” Smith qualified earlier today and will face Dr. James Joy in the election for Place 3.
Currently, Monica “Monty” Vest, Randy Sparkman, Jennifer Sittason and R. Bruyne Rollins are still unopposed in places 1, 2, 4 and 5 respectively.
The last day to qualify for the municipal election is Tues., July 17.
