Hartselle’s fourth annual Serve Day will kick off Saturday morning will a pep rally at the depot in historic downtown at 7:30 a.m.

Volunteer groups from various churches, non-profits and businesses will disperse to different service projects throughout the area from 8-11 a.m. to participate in the event with one goal in mind: serve the Lord by serving their community.

The group from Daystar Church has participated in Serve Day since its inception in 2019. According to Ginger Cataline, the outreach director at Daystar, the church has had between 80-120 volunteers participate in Serve Day in the past.

Cataline said there is much to enjoy about the annual event, but her favorite part is working alongside other churches and organizations under one banner, serving (the) community and being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Daystar Church will be leading the projects at Hartselle Junior High School that include pressure washing, painting, planting shrubs and more. Groups will lead more projects at other Hartselle City Schools, in downtown Hartselle and at the homes of elderly people who are in need of home repairs and yard work.

Sponsors of the fourth annual event include presenting sponsor Corum’s Building and Farm Supply, breakfast sponsor Rep. Scott Stadthagen, pep rally sponsor Maegan Jones – MarMac Real Estate, lunch sponsor Redstone Federal Credit Union.

Other event sponsors include DiamondPro, Hartselle First United Methodist Church Youth, Hartselle First Assembly of God, Magnolia River, Thompson Homes, Forever Kate and Habitat for Humanity of Morgan County.
