Town of Eva celebrates Memorial Day
The Town of Eva held a Memorial Day service at Veteran’s Park May 30 honoring 19 local veterans.
Mayor Gary Livingston began the event with an introduction of the veteran service program. The prayer was led by councilman and U.S. Air Force veteran Bear Nelson and the pledge was led by councilman Kent Chambers. U.S. Army veteran Cliff Hatfield played the Taps. Councilman Nelson and WW11 Navy veteran Zeb Nelson presented the laying of the wreath. Morgan County deputy William Riley performed the Star Spangle Banner before special guest U.S. Army veteran Fred Roberts spoke to those attending on the importance of God, family and country.
Also attending the service were councilman and U.S. Army veteran Edsel Childers, councilman and U.S. Army veteran Johnny Persall and U.S. Army veteran Ripley Fowler.
