Hartselle High chorus to perform at Atlanta Braves game

The Hartselle High School Choral Department will perform the National Anthem at Truist Park when the Atlanta Braves play a league rival May 25.

“It has been really fun dreaming about this day and getting prepared to sing for such a large audience,” choral director Kate Dupuis said. “The Braves will be playing the Phillies the night we go, which is a big rivalry within the national league. It is going to be an awesome game.”

A group of 71 auditioned singers will perform for the crowd. At capacity, Truist Park holds 41,084 people. Choral assistant Martha Bowling called the invitation a “once in a lifetime opportunity.”

“This trip is a wonderful way for our students to end the school year as they move into their summer break,” she added.

The Braves v. Phillies game will air on Bally Sports at 6:20 p.m. EST.
