Hope

By Todd Barrier

John 3:16 is possibly the most known or most popular Bible verse in the world. It says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Let’s look at why it’s so well known – some of the key aspects that might comfort us when we read it.

The first big set of words is that He “loved the world” and then “whoever believes.” This includes you as an individual; how awesome is that?

In tough times you can know God loved you so much He gave His son for you to be able to spend eternity with Him.

We know that “whoever” – again, this includes you – believes in Him – full faith belief! – has a place in eternity waiting for them.

Even when we think we are alone, we have a God who loves and cares for us so much He made a way for each of us. No wonder this verse is so popular; it gives every person on earth a hope they will not find anywhere else.
