Charlie Ray Lunn

Funeral service for Charlie Ray Lunn, 83, was held Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Zeke Haselden and Bro. Jimmy Glenn Jr. officiating. Peck Funeral Home directed. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery. 
Mr. Lunn died Nov. 28 at his residence. He was born May 22, 1938, in Tennessee to Charles Hardin Lunn and Ellen Wells Lunn.
He was employed by Howard Baer Trucking, PRAXAIR Inc., as a truck driver prior to his retirement. He also delivered food to the local food banks and churches across Morgan and Lawrence counties. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jobie Lunn.
Survivors include wife, Linda Sue Lunn; sons, Michael Nelson (Sheila), Ray Glenn (Missy), Tobie Lunn (Peggy), Keith Glenn (Cassie) and Steven Glenn; daughters, Sherri Traughber (Tim), Donna Padilla (Art), Tina Hastings (Jeff), Lisa Stewart (Charles) and Jeannie Chance (John); brothers, Wesley Lunn and Doug Lunn; sister, Joyce Guye; 29 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Josh Barett, Dustyn Sandlin, Paul Nelson, Dakota Glenn, Ricky Anderson and Dylan Padilla. 

Jeff Bloodworth
Hillsboro
Funeral service for Jeff Bloodworth, 48, was held Dec. 1 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Geoff Halbrooks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bloodworth died Nov. 26 at his residence. He was born Sept. 11, 1973, in Lawrence County to Jerry Glen Bloodworth and Ellen Moriarty. He was employed by 3M Company as a chemical operator. He
was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include wife, Melissa Bloodworth; father, Jerry Glen Bloodworth (Jean); mother, Ellen Moriarty Lozon (Michael); son, Brad Bloodworth (Maisey Chappell); daughter, Jennifer Fleck (Ronnie); stepsons, Tyler Summers, Trevor Summers and Shane Gulley; stepdaughter, Brianna Corbin; brother, Chris Bloodworth (Courtney); sister, Amy Wilcox (Mike); stepsisters, Sonya Triggers and Karen Sandlin; grandchild, Alice; and nieces and nephews, Katie, Dylan, Savannah, Miami and Bellamy.
 

Arvil Lee Nix
Hartselle
Funeral service for Arvil Lee Nix, 81, was held Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Earl Holt and Bro. Tom Sutphin officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. 

Mr. Nix died Nov. 30 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 26, 1940, in Blount County to Carl Nix and Vera Francis Whited Nix. He was employed by Thompson Plastic, as the vice president and human resource director, prior to his retirement. He was the lead singer for The King’s Messengers quartet for 52 years and was a member of the Serenity Baptist Church in Somerville. He was a sports fanatic, with his favorite teams being the Alabama Crimson Tide, Atlanta Braves, Hartselle Tigers and the Oneonta Redskins.  

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  

His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include wife of 58 years, Luvell “PeeWee” Powell Nix; son, Perry Jason Nix (Nancy); daughter, Melissa Rene Nix Roy; brother, Jimmy Ray Nix; sister, Margaret Ann Nix Miller; five grandchildren, Forrest “Lonnie” Roy (Amber), Hollie Bridwell (Shane), Dustin Roy (LeighAnna), Emily Sutphin (Tom) and Carlin “Drew” Nix (McCulloch); and four great-grandchildren, Landon Bridwell, Sophie Bridwell, Joseph Sutphin and Adelyn Roy.
Pallbearers were Forrest Lee Roy, Dustin Roy, Carlin Nix, Shane Bridwell, Brandon Nix, Ryan Nix and Justin Nix. Junior pallbearers were Landon Bridwell and Joseph Sutphin. Honorary pallbearers were members, past and present, of The King’s Messengers, as well as Red Speegle and Roger Chaney. 

Emma Jean Lee 

Falkville 

A graveside funeral service and interment for Emma Jean Lee, 84, was held Dec. 3 at 3:30 p.m. at Roundtop Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Reid and Sherril Hill officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No visitation was scheduled.
Mrs. Lee died Nov. 30 at her residence. She was born Oct. 11, 1937, in Morgan County to Bob Wilhite and Lola Roberson Wilhite.
Emma enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandkids grow. She also liked to dance when she was able. She loved to cook and enjoyed canning. She was very special to a lot of people. She was employed by Summerford Nursing Home and Falkville Healthcare Center, working 15 years at
each facility.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Lee; her parents; brothers Lavon White (Dotsy), Mack Wilhite (Mary) and Wayne Wilhite (Doris); and infant son, Eugene Lee. 
Survivors include son, Steven Lee (Joyce); brother, Frank Wilhite; grandchildren, Nichole Hill (Joey), Ty McLeod and Krystal Tankersley (Wesley); and great-grandchildren, Kayleygh, Adalynn and Brantley Hill, Allen McLeod and Paisley and Owen Tankerlsey. 

Pallbearers were Ty McLeod, Joey Hill, Byron Green, Nickolas Wilhite, Bradley Wilhite and Ricky Wilhite. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Wilhite and Peanut Wilhite. 

Dwight K. Hale 

Hartselle 

Dwight Kennedale Hale, 70, of Hartselle, died Nov. 30 at his residence.  

He was born March 17, 1951, in Lawrence County to RH and Zora Hale of Hillsboro.  

The memorial service was held Friday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home, Hartselle. 

He is survived by his wife, Angela Hale; daughters, Chelsea Hale Wellman (Justin) and Jordan Hale; six grandchildren, Abbey Cross, Alley Cross, Hayden Reeves, Crewe Wellman, Justice Leo Wellman and Asher Wellman; two brothers, Harmon Hale (Carol) and Karmon Hale; and two sisters, Judy Vaughan (James) and Jan Hale.  

Preceding him in death were his parents, RH and Zora Hale, and his daughter, Emily Hale Reeves (Brandon). 

He worked for the Decatur Police Department, where he served as chief of detectives and worked narcotics, before retiring as captain of the internal affairs department after 40 years of service.  

He was a graduate of Lawrence County High School, the Police Academy and the FBI Academy. He received numerous certifications in polygraph and hypnosis.  

Dwight enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with family and at the ballfield with his grandsons, and watching Alabama football. 

Honorary pallbearers were the City of Decatur Police Department and retired officers. 

James “Jim” Norman
Hartselle
James “Jim” Norman, 83, passed away at his home on Nov. 29 with Bonnie, his wife of 57 years, by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Lois Norman.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie, nephew Steve Inman and great-nieces Olivia and Reese Inman.
Jim was the owner and operator of Jim Norman Auctions in Hartselle for 45 years. He loved what he did and did a great job providing a wonderful service to families in need of assistance to disperse their family’s estate, as well as assisting attorneys and insurance companies.
He loved country music and was a very good golfer. He had a kind and generous heart and very quietly helped many people in the community.
A very special thank you to the three best caregivers in the world, Janice Goodwin, Kenni Jo Shaneyfelt and Joyce Dotson.
There was not a public service scheduled at this time.
Any memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Ranson, West Virginia, or to a charity of your choice. 

Shelby Jean Tolbert Stewart 

Hartselle
A graveside funeral service and interment for Shelby Jean Tolbert Stewart, 65, was held Dec. 5 at 3 p.m. at Andrews Chapel with Bro. John White and Bro. Ben Stanley officiating. Peck Funeral Home directed.
Mrs. Stewart died Dec. 1 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
She was born Feb. 4, 1956, in Lawrence County to Elmo Tolbert and Louise Jones Tolbert. She was a devoted Christian lady and had attended Decatur Christian Fellowship for 31 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and foster parent for several children in this area. She was a production worker
for Monsanto and Freuhauf prior to her passing and was a homemaker for her family.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Winston Jerry Stewart; her parents; and her brothers, Billy Ray, Ronnie, Jeffrey, Danny and Stevie.
Survivors include two sons, Jeremy Stewart and Jay Stewart (Donna); three daughters, Donna Campbell (Greg), Julienne Stewart and Rebecca Salmonson (Matt); brother, Tommy Tolbert (Gail); sisters, Joyce Norton (Carl), Joan Appleton (Danny), Janet Malloy and Julie Praitano; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers were family and friends. 

Don Hamil Crow 

Hartselle 

Funeral service for Don Hamil Crow, 78, of Hartselle was held Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church with Brother Randy Ashley officiating. Burial was in the Herring Cemetery. Peck Funeral Home directed.  

Mr. Crow, who died Dec. 4 at Cullman Regional Medical Center, was born March 13, 1943 in Decatur to Horace Gordon Crow Sr. and Everleene Brown Crow. 

He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for more than 45 years. Don was always very active in the church, from teaching children’s Sunday school and being a Royal Ambassador leader to working on the kitchen crew for Awana, singing in the choir or doing church maintenance. Don was always willing to do whatever needed to be done. 

He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a good neighbor, great handyman and an accomplished woodworker. He used his skills to build pieces of furniture and to do projects for his family, friends and neighbors. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Agnes Crow; his wife of 55 years, Harolyn Morris Crow; a brother, Horace Crow Jr., and sister-in-law, Frances Crow; and two brothers-in-law, Avery Roberts and Tommy Terry. 

He is survived by his two daughters, Valerie Crow Higginbotham (John) and Christy Crow Bennich (Dan); two sisters, Mary Roberts and Martha Terry; and four grandchildren, Alex Newell Higginbotham (Charlotte), Austin Hamil Higginbotham, Emma Claire Bennich and Owen Davis Bennich. 

The deacons of Lebanon Baptist Church served as pallbearers. 

Victor J. Hieber Sr.
Hartselle
Victor J. Hieber Sr., 79, died Dec. 4 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.   

He was born March 1, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Eugene Hieber and Genevieve Jurkiewiez Hieber. He was a tax preparer for Vics Income Tax Service.   

His parents, who preceded him in death, came here from Poland. He was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Hieber, and a stepson, Phillip Cranor. 

Survivors include wife, Kathy Hieber; sons, Victor Hieber Jr., and Eugene Hieber; daughter, Anieta Hieber; brothers, Ray Hieber, Bob Hieber and Alex Hieber; sister, Joanna Guirate; sisters-in-law, Cindy Rondeau and Pam Kritner; stepsons, Richard Cranor and Ross Cranor; stepdaughter, Michelle Craner; and many grandkids and great-grandkids. 

The family will hold a virtual memorial service via Zoom. Peck Funeral Home is assisting the family.
