Adell Byford

Hartselle

A Celebration of Life for Adell Byford, 91, was held Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Amy Parsons Vaughn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Forrest Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Byford died Nov. 22 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 9, 1930, in Morgan County to Roy Buren Bridges and Mary Annie (White) Bridges.

She was employed at Copeland as an inspector prior to her retirement. She was a member of Forrest Chapel UMC and a member of the Hopewell Homemakers Club. She had a special gift for growing flowers and vegetables, crocheting, fishing and homemaking and was a wonderful cook.

Mrs. Byford lived her life with a passion for love and acceptance of all people. She taught her family about strength and believing in themselves. Preceding her in death were her husband, Hewlett Andrew Byford; her parents; a son, Jerry Daniel Byford; and a brother, Truman Bridges. Survivors include one son, Wayne Byford (Kim); daughters, Pat Byford and Alecia Shipp (Guy); sisters, Fay Speakman, Saralene Moore and Joyce Dudley; grandchildren, Cara Dawn Byford (Mark), Mark Hostios (Christina), David Hostios (Kaci), Jacob Doshair (Jen), Wesley Woodruff (Cathy), Dylan Woodruff (Paisley), Lindsey Woodruff (Terry), Andrew Byford, Rebecca Byford and Miranda Byford; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Wayne Byford, Mark Hostios, David Hostios, Dylan Woodruff, Drew Byford, Wesley Woodruff and Jacob Doshair.

 

Ruby Mae Watson

Danville

Funeral service for Ruby Mae Watson, 87, was held Nov. 26 at noon at Piney Grove Church, Danville, with Bro. Greg Standridge officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Piney Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Watson died Nov. 23, 2021 at her residence. She was born Oct. 26, 1934, in Winston County to Henry Warren and Mattie Cooper Warren.

She was a wonderful wife and homemaker for her family and a member of the Piney Grove Church. Preceding her in death were her husband, Carl Watson; a son, Jimmy Watson; brothers, Mitchell Warren, Russell Warren and Jim Warren; and sisters, Vealey Warren and Lydia Warren. Survivors include a son, Don Watson, Nashville, Tenn.; daughter, Judy Hill (Buster), Danville; brother, James Warren (Doris Fay), Haleyville; sister, Pearline Armstrong, Houston; and one grandchild, George Hill (Katelyn). Pallbearers were Lindy Hampton, Cody Hampton, Corey Hibbs, Don Watson, Buster Hill and George Hill.

 

Billy Phelps

Hartselle

A memorial funeral service for Billy Phelps, 65, will be held Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Dec. 4 from 2-3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Phelps died Nov. 21 at his residence. He was born March 20, 1956, in Guernsey County, Ohio, to Jack Phelps and Virginia Phillips Phelps. He was employed as a construction manager and loved Florida Gators football.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Phelps, in October 2018 and by his parents. Survivors include his sons, Jesse Phelps and Matt Phelps (Jill), and his sisters, Kim Rogers, Kerry Dale and Mickey Addison.
