Town of Falkville announces fall decoration contest winners 

Congratulations go out this week to the winners of the Town of Falkville fall decoration contest. Business winners are Falkville Elementary in first place, Salon of Beauty in second place and Lulu’s Loft in third place. Church winners are First Baptist in first place, Victory Fellowship in second place and Pine Street in third place. Residential winners are Bob Ramey in first place, Carol Hayes in second place and Lana Gillis in third place.  

Everyone really did a great job with all of the decorations.  

Special congratulations also go out this week to Falkville High School student Adalyn Taylor.  

She finished fifth in showmanship at the Alabama National Fair, and her lamb placed first in her breeding class! 

Community Halloween Activities  

The Falkville Police Department will hold its annual Trunk or Treat Oct. 28 from 5-7 p.m. They are accepting candy donations, which can be dropped off at the Dollar General Store in Falkville or the Falkville Police Department.

The Falkville VFW Auxiliary 10774 will host a Halloween Bash Oct. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities will include kids’ bingo, cake walk, costume contest and lots of other games and food.  

The Auxiliary is located at 784 Culver Road, Falkville. Come out and have a good time at the Bash! 

Shady Grove Baptist Church members welcome everyone to attend their Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat Oct. 31 at 5:30 p.m. The event will include jack-o’-lantern judging and a chili and hotdog supper. 

Enon Baptist Church at Danville will hold its Fall Festival Oct. 30, and the time will be from 4-6 p.m. They will have food, games, prizes, candy and lots of fun for everyone.
