ASWA Prep Football Rankings: Hartselle moves up to 3rd in 6A

Three Morgan County teams remain in this week’s rankings by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.

Hartselle moved up one spot to No. 3 in 6A following their win over Athens last week. The ranking is the highest for the Tigers since 2012 when they spent four weeks at No. 1 in the 5A rankings. It is the highest they have ever been ranked in 6A as their previous high was No. 4 twice, last week and the final rankings of the 2018 season when they finished 10-0 in the regular season.

The Tigers head to Muscle Shoals on Friday for a matchup with the Trojans (6-0, 4-0). Muscle Shoals enters the game as only one of two undefeated teams that are not ranked in this week’s rankings.

Falkville fell to No. 9 in 2A following their home loss to Section on Friday. The Blue Devils hit the road for a region game with Tanner (5-2, 4-0) on Friday.

Decatur Heritage stayed at No. 6 in 1A after their 52-14 win over Waterloo last week. The Eagles have a matchup with R.A. Hubbard (5-2, 4-0) this week.
