Callie Garner & Cody Wimberly – June 7, 2020 & Sept. 27, 2020

Photos by Poppy Leaf Photography

How You Met: We were 15 years old. My best friend told me that she had a single cousin, but I was not thrilled at the thought of being set up with a guy I didn’t know. Then I saw his picture, and he was cute, so I told her she could give him my number, and we could see where this thing could go. I met him in person at their church a few weeks later. The next time I saw him at church, March 7, 2012, he asked me to be his girlfriend.

The Wedding Dress: The dream dress of all dream dresses. It was the first dress I tried on, and I knew it was the one! It was A-Line, ivory, big, sparkly. I wanted a big “Callie” dress, as my friends would call it, and that is exactly what I got. Surrounded by some of my favorite people, I got to pick out the perfect dress!

Favorite Moment from the Big Day: I think it is a tie between the first look and walking down the aisle. I wore a different dress to our first wedding, so Cody wasn’t allowed to see my “big” dress until the first look. His expression was everything I wanted it to be, and the dress was as big as he thought it would be. Walking down the aisle was special because we rehearsed that everyone (including me) would walk to “This I Promise You” by *NSYNC, which is what I walked to during our first wedding. He didn’t know that I told the DJ I would actually be walking to Shania Twain’s “From This Moment On. Cody knew how special it was to me to have *NSYNC as the song I walked down the aisle to because of how much I love Justin Timberlake. I wanted to surprise him with his favorite artist, Shania! It was perfect.

Favorite Wedding Details: Our wedding invitations were actually the photos from our first wedding, which I absolutely loved. How many people get to use their wedding photos as their wedding invitations?! Our songs were a perfect mix of Callie and Cody, because Cody’s favorite singer is Shania Twain, and mine is Justin Timberlake, and we used every major song was from one of those two singers! I think it gave the perfect touch to the most perfect day.

What You Are Doing Now: We are currently remodeling our home. We are going total Chip and Joanna on this house! We are also loving on our two dogs, Muddy and Ellie Lou and enjoying our time finally being married, even if our wedding did happen in the middle of a pandemic.
