Hartselle volleyball wins two at home

The Hartselle Tigers welcomed the Arab Knights and the Muscle Shoals Trojans to Hartselle High School for a volleyball tri-match on Tuesday evening.

In the first game of the evening, the Tigers defeated area for Muscle Shoals 25-12, 21-25, 25-9, 25-20 to earn their first area win of the season.

In their second game, they defeated Arab 25-14, 25-21.

Hailey Holshouser led the way for the Tigers with 28 digs and 24 kills. Lillyanna Cartee finished with 35 digs, 17 kills, and five blocks, Emory Carnes has 33 digs, and Jessica Jarrett added 23 digs and 12 kills. Grace Tapscott had 69 assists, 22 digs, and four blocks.

With the wins, the Tigers improve to 16-8 overall and 1-0 in area play.

Hartselle will travel to Austin on Thursday for matches against Austin and Madison County starting at 4:00 pm. On Saturday, they will host the Eddie Preuitt Ford Tournament.
