In times of uncertainty

By Todd Barrier

In times of uncertainty I like to remember John 16:33:

“These things I have spoken to you that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.”

We can get five really good thoughts to reassure us from this verse:

  1. This is Jesus’ direct reassurance for us, from Him!
  2. In Jesus we find our comfort – not in the news, statistics or worldly things.
  3. Bad things happen, but …
  4. We can still find peace and joy even with that knowledge because …
  5. Jesus died for us so that we have eternity to look forward to. Bad things happen here, but we are working for things above!

In Him,
