Priceville’s first half rally leads to win over Brewer

FALKVILLE – Priceville rallied from 10 points down in the second quarter to defeat Brewer 57-42 in the semi-finals of the Morgan County Tournament.

The Lady Patriots controlled the first four minutes of the second quarter as they maintained an eight-point lead, 19-11. Priceville dominated the last four minutes of the half as they went on a 14-2 run to grab a 25-21 lead heading into halftime. Walker scored 13 points to the lead the Lady Bulldogs surge.

Brewer started the third with a 4-0 run to tie the game at 25-25. The teams traded baskets over the next four minutes with Priceville holding a two-point lead at 34-32. The Lady Bulldogs then outscored Brewer 23-10 over the final 12 minutes of the game to get the 57-42 win.

COACH NELSON’S THOUGHTS

I couldn’t be more proud of the way the girls kept battling in spite of a very slow start.  They continued to fight for the next play. It was a great team win. Brewer is an outstanding basketball team with great tradition. Playing teams like Brewer this time of year will help us to continue to improve.
