HPD arrests one for possession of oxycodone

Special to the Enquirer

One Hartselle arrest was under arrest after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a controlled substance.

Jan. 6 Officer Lesley Sheffield arrested Roger Dale Vinson, 31, of Hartselle for possession of a controlled substance. Vinson was given a $1,000 bond.

Sheffield observed a vehicle near Curry Street in Hartselle with an expired tag. The sole occupant of the vehicle was found to be in possession of oxycodone.

Sheffield further determined Vinson did not have a prescription for the oxycodone.

Oxycodone is a highly addictive medication used to treat severe ongoing pain such as cancer.
