Swimmers from Hartselle High School and Priceville High School participated in the 2019 AHSAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Auburn this past weekend. 

Avery Balch and Julie Bryant represented Hartselle, while Xander Gaines represented Priceville. 

Balch, a junior, brought home a second-place finish in the 1–meter diving competition for Class 6A-7A. He finished with a final score of 360.8. He advanced to the finals by scoring 256.50 – good for third – in the semifinals. 

Bryant, a senior, finished sixth in the 50-yard freestyle for Class 6A-7A. Her finals time was 25.23 seconds. 

Gaines, a freshman, had a sixth-place finish in the 1–meter diving competition for Class 1A-5A. His score in the finals was 226.50.
