Daisy Ferguson Kube

Daisy Ferguson Kube, 85, died Oct. 1, at Cullman Regional. Arrangements were handled by Peck Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life service was Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur, with Pastor John Ninke officiating. Her ashes were interred Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. at Potter Cemetery in Lepanto, Ark.
She was born Dec. 11, 1933, in Lepanto.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Palmer Kube; parents; four sisters; two brothers; and a son, William.

She is survived by daughter Sandy Cheatham (Steve); sons Richard Kube (Terri), Palmer Kube Jr., and Larry Kube; sister, Earlene Johnson; grandchildren, Angela Bogler (Paul), Elizabeth Madison (Darrell), Christina Goff (George), Pam Stanley (Jeremy), Sarah Stephens, Zachary Kube (Halie), Cody Kube and Cheyanne Collier (Josh); and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was a 21-year Marine wife, which led to being a lifelong activist for veterans’ benefits and rights. She was a lifetime member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She held many offices with the Ladies Auxiliary over 35 years, supporting Post 4190 in Decatur.

She became a caregiver/sitter for patients before she succumbed to dementia. She loved her family and church family deeply. She was a forever fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Auburn football.
Her family wants to express its sincerest thanks to the staff of Cullman Regional, as well as the Summerford Nursing staff, for the wonderful home, love and care provided for more than six years.
After the service, friends and family are welcome to gather at the home of her daughter in Hartselle.

Cherry Renee Morgan

Funeral service for Cherry Renee Morgan, 35, was Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lucky Teague officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in New Center Cemetery.
Mrs. Morgan died Nov. 3 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born Jan. 10, 1984, in Morgan County to Billy Darin Morgan and Evaleen Morgan. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Darin Morgan; a brother, James Darin Morgan; and the father of her children, William Truss.
Survivors include her husband, Jimbo Barber; three daughters, Destiny Truss, Nevah Truss and Megas Truss; mother, Evaleen Morgan; stepchildren, Connor Chaze and Summer Barber; one brother, Billy Darin Morgan Jr.; and one sister, Rachel Morgan.
Pallbearers were Tony Kirby, Seth Woodard, Chaze Barber, Austin Gillott and Robert Clay.           

Harold Gandy
Falkville
Funeral service for Harold Gandy, 91, was Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. at Gandy’s Cove United Methodist Church with Bro. Harold Thompson and Bro. Albert Dean Estes officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Cook Cemetery.

Mr. Gandy died Nov. 13 at his residence. He was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Morgan County to Thomas Alford Gandy and Cornice Thompson Gandy. He was a lifetime resident of the Cold Springs Community and an active member of the Gandy’s Cove United Methodist Church. He was employed by General Motors – Saginaw Steering Gear plant prior to his retirement as a maintenance technician. He loved cattle farming and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sandlin Gandy; a son, Ray Gandy; and his parents.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne Gandy (Jackie) and Allen Gandy (Kathy); seven grandchildren, Jonathan Gandy (Jenna), Jeramy Elizabeth Gandy, Jordan Gandy (Amanda), Morgan Rae Alexander (Ted), Melissa Gail Gandy, Christopher Thomas Gandy (Mandy) and Charles Perry Gandy (Brittney); and nine great-grandchildren, Samuel Gandy, Gracie Gandy, Eli Gandy, Silas Gandy, Skylar Gandy, Bron Gandy, Emma Gandy, Lawson Alexander and Shelton Alexander.
Pallbearers were Jonathan Gandy, Jordan Gandy, Chris Gandy, Charlie Gandy, Ted Alexander and Lawson Alexander.   

William Charles Gertsman

A graveside funeral service and interment for William Charles Gertsman, 75, were held Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Bro. Erick Chaney officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Gerstman died Nov. 11 at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born June 29, 1944, in Morgan County to Oscar William Gerstman and Mary Jane Engle Gerstman.
Mr. Gerstman was a veteran. He was employed as a wood reel fabricator for Baker Wood Reels prior to his retirement.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Raymond and Lamar Gerstman.
Survivors include one daughter, Beth Gerstman Lee (Bo); one brother, Ralph Gerstman (Diane); four grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were family and friends.        

Art “Butch” Dunford
Hartselle
Funeral service for Art “Butch” Dunford, 80, was Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Blackman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dunford died Nov. 13 at his residence. He was born Sept. 28, 1939, in Michigan to Arthur Lee Dunford Sr. and Oletta Fern Derickson Dunford. He was married to his wife, Brenda, for 54 years.
He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter dearly, and that loved was returned by them all. He loved attending East Highland Baptist, where he enjoyed singing in the choir and fellowship with his church family.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Charlie and Robert Dunford, both of Kentucky; and a grandson, Joseph Dunford.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Dunford; one son, David Dunford; one daughter, Laurie O’Neill (Doug); two brothers, Oscar Dunford and Tim Dunford; one sister, Becky McCoy (Tony); three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers were David Dunford, David Paul Dunford, Doug O’Neill, Terry
Miller, Bill Paskins and Jim Carson. Honorary pallbearer was Carl Thrasher.        

Carolyn Frances Garrison

Graveside funeral service and interment for Carolyn Frances Garrison, 72, were held Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. in the Childers Cemetery with Bro. Donald Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Garrison died Nov. 13 at her residence. She was born Sept. 27, 1947, in Morgan County to W.D. Blagburn and Omega Childers Blagburn. She was employed with Walmart in customer service for 38 years. She was a graduate of the Morgan County High School, class of 1966.
She was married to her husband, Nieto, for 49 years and loved her family dearly. Carolyn was a member of Priceville Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Randy R. Blagburn.
Survivors include her husband, Neito Ray Garrison; one son, Abeyta Neito Garrison (Joni); one daughter, Deanna Garrison Woodall (Brandon); one brother, Ronald D. Blagburn; and four grandchildren, Abigail Garrison, Joseph Garrison, Garrison Woodall and Chaz Woodall.
Pallbearers were Joseph Garrison, Garrison Woodall, Corey Balgburn, Chaz Woodall, Brandon Woodall and Shane Blagburn.

Charles Nations
Decatur
Funeral service for Charles Nations, 77, was Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with Bro. Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Mr. Nations died Nov. 14 at NHC Healthcare. He was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Tennessee to LeRoy Nations and Sarah Parlee White Nations. He was employed with Amtrak as a locomotive engineer prior to his retirement. He was a member of Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, O.K. Houck Lodge, in Memphis, Tenn., and Al Chymia Shrine Temple, Memphis, Tenn.
Mr. Nations was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Salem United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kevin Daniels.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Burch Nations; one daughter, Margaret Snyder (Joseph); four sons, Tad Nations, Matthew Nations, Doug Daniels (Penny) and Mark Daniels (Sandee); two sisters, Doris Glosson and Patsy Carter; four grandchildren, Evan Nations, Trevor Nations, Justin Daniels and Eric Daniels; and one great-grandchild, Mason Daniels.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
