Fairview–The Grace Place to host Feed, Love, Serve auction Nov.15
Fairview–The Grace Place will have its ninth annual Feed, Love and Serve auction event Nov. 15. This is an adults-only event that will include both live and silent auction items and a catered meal from Carlton’s Italian restaurant of Cullman. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. Event tickets are $30 each or $100 for a reserved table for six. The funds raised from this annual event support and staff the Feeding Center Ministry for the entire year.The Feeding Center Ministry provides meals for undernourished in Guatemala who also suffer from many preventable diseases. The ministry now has two feeding centers in operation that provide meals to more than 200 children daily. This ministry has been blessed by God and is made possible byfunds from this annual event. Corinth West Baptist Church EventsThe members of Corinth West Baptist Church held a Pastor Appreciation luncheon for their pastor, brother Glenn Miller, who has been their pastor for the past two years, Oct. 20. Church presided at the Northwest District United Methodist Women annual meeting Oct. 19. Area women’s groups met at Stone River United Methodist Church on Danville Road and enjoyed refreshments and social hour, followed by Amy Hunter’s message on the theme “Morning Forward Together.” Amy is co-pastor of the Stone River Church. A visiting organist added inspiring hymns to the program, “Onward Christian Soldiers” and “Lord Be My Vision.” Carolyn Besnyl from McKendree United Methodist Church attended the meeting, as did the the Salem United Methodist Women group. Jenny Turney will continue as president. Some of the district’s projects for the New Year include helping teenage girls and young women. Mt. Zion Baptist Church ActivitiesJamie Stewart, youth minister, and the youth group conducted Sunday morning worship service at 10:45 a.m. at Mt. Zion Church Oct. 20. The special event featured the youth choir, speaker and the youth, who conducted the pastor appreciation service. The Mt. Zion Women’s Missionary Union sponsored a Swamp John’s fundraiser Oct. 25 from 4-7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. The fall festival was held Oct. 27, directed by Kim Hall. Activities included a hayride, cake walk, book walk, bingo with food and candy for the kids. Everyone enjoyed the evening’s activities.
