Hartselle traveled to Decatur Tuesday to take on the Red Raiders in their area opener.  The Lady Tigers came out on a roll offensively as they managed to put up 45 first-half points while holding Decatur to only 14. Hartselle did not let up and continued to add on to their lead throughout the night, coming home with a 64-19 victory behind a strong offensive performance and dominating defense.  Janeisha Mathews and Zoey Sales each contributed eight points for the Raiders, while Hartselle was in scoring by Allie Mayfield at 16 as Mariah Taylor also added on 10 points while Hailey Holshouser and Kalli Cartee each contributed nine.

Following the girls matchup, the Hartselle Tiger varsity boys were next up in the action taking on cross-county rival Decatur. Both teams came out struggling to find any momentum on offense as neither team made their way into double digits until the second half, but Hartselle managed to grab ahold of a commanding 28-14 halftime lead in the second quarter on offense, scoring 19 points. Hartselle maintained hold of a steady lead throughout the night and managed to take home a 58-46 victory for their opening game of area play. The Raiders were led in scoring by Kenneth Sanders at 19 points while Omar Pointer added eight points to the board for Decatur. Hartselle was led by Brody Peebles at 29 as he went 10-12 from the free throw line, Keondre Swoopes managed to also add 13 to the scoreboard while Tad Sivley also scored seven.
