Local company expands to offer additional services

Hartselle Sporting Goods has been in business for about 20 years. According to store manager Leanne Early, the business has also recently expanded to offer additional services through a partnership with Pro Sports Team Outfitters.

Early said the expansion came in light of a recent increase in business. “We expanded our team seals to other schools, and with that came bigger orders. For us to be able to provide the same service that we always have, we had to expand,” Early said.

Early said Hartselle Sporting Goods was approached last year by Pro Sports Team Outfitters about the partnership, and the similar family orientation convinced them to partner. Pro Sports Team Outfitters also began as a local small-town store before growing into what it is today.

“His father started in a little store and grew it into a million-dollar business,” Early said.

Early said the partnership has allowed the store to offer products at cheaper rates and expand the brands they carry without compromising their service. “We are homegrown here. We are all from here and have children here,” she said. “The whole point in having a local store is being able to provide for our children and community.”

The partnership has also brought additional opportunities to Hartselle. Early said Pro Sports Team Outfitters services large teams like the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Tech. “They help with large team sales, and we help work with them on local thing. They send things to us, and we send to them,” Early said.

Due to the large orders Pro Sports Team Outfitters accommodates, Hartselle also has begun receiving overstock items. The store will start having special items for less in addition to the items it already carries for all the community needs. “Our main goal is to provide for our community. We want to make more available to them, and what we are providing is going back into the school system,” Early said.

The store provides uniforms for all of Hartselle City Schools, Falkville, Danville and some schools in Decatur. In addition, Hartselle Sporting Goods does business with the Huntsville Havocs.

The store is open in the same location at 820 Highway 31 SW, Hartselle, AL 35640.
