NO FENCES-COWBOY CHURCH ALMOST FINISHED WITH NEW BUILDING

 

The No Fences-Cowboy Church’s new building at Massey is almost completed. The kitchen and interior walls in some departments are still under construction. The youth department is in the upstairs area. On Sun., March 12 Brother Josh Sparkman conducted a Baptismal Service. The church has two new members at the facility since Jan. 1. In 2016 there were 50 new members. They have Wednesday night Bible study at 6:30 p.m. and Brother Josh is the leader. Allan Hassell, Roger and Kay Hogan do the chuck wagon meals for the church. Nicole Smith sings at the Cowboy Church and others in the area. Glenn and Mike Woods and Dexter and Anna Stanley are in the band and JoAnn Cottingham is a singer. The Congregation hopes to be in the new church Easter Sunday.

The Massey Community supper was held at McKendree United Methodist Church on Fri., March 10 at 5:30 p.m. Everyone enjoyed the meatloaf that Chris and April Holmes prepared and also the creamed potatoes, green beans, slaw, rolls and desserts such as chocolate cake, pies, cookies, donuts and tea and soft drinks. Noah Battles led the praise and worship and Brother Mike Vest led the serenity prayer and reciting the 12-step program. A video testimony by a recovery person was shown to the entire group. The group met with Teri Sanford and also Brother Mike and Tammy Vest.

Christian love and heartfelt sympathy goes out this week for the family of Shirley Springfield.

Special get-well wishes go out this week for Frances Rowe, Nancy Kelly, Dana Henslee, Ed Butler and also Sandra Morgan.

Special belated happy birthday wishes go out this week for Jennifer Anders and she celebrated her birthday on March 21. Special happy birthday wishes also go out this week for Jim Walker and Jim will celebrate his birthday on March 24. Wonderful happy birthday wishes go out this week to Marla Maples Robinson and Marla will celebrate her birthday on March 24. Special happy birthday wishes go out this week for Gipsy Preston Bryant and Gipsy will be cerebrating on March 26.

Cheyenne Crowe was honored with a baby boy shower at the gym at Fairview the Grace Place. Everyone attending enjoyed the fellowship and food on Sunday afternoon, March 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.

The Gals of Grace met on Thurs., March 16 at Fairview at 6:30 p.m. The Men’s club met at the Summerford barn, March 6 at 6:30 p.m.

Students in fourth through the sixth grade from Fairview the Grace Place enjoyed pizza and bowling from noon to 4 p.m. at CiCi’s Pizza and River City Lanes in Decatur.

Dana Henslee from Corinth West Baptist’s Women’s group will be attending a Phil Waldrop Conference for women in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Other Corinth women and Dana have attended Phil’s meetings for several years. The Conference will be March 24-26.

Brother Sam and Arlene Nisly celebrated their 50th anniversary on Sat., March 11. They enjoyed a card and letter shower from family and friends and also family visits and meals. Brother Sam is pastor of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church at Massey.
