Max and Dana Schrimsher traveled to Montgomery recently where she was inducted into the Trinity Presbyterian School Hall of Fame. She was a Senior Class Sponsor and an English teacher there for 13 years in the 70’s and 80’s. Others attending to enjoy the evening event with them were her sister, Lila June Turner of Wetumpka; her daughters and their husbands, Jill and Allen Joiner, Pike Rood, Julie and Michael Norris of Wetumpka; and dear friends Alice Donley, former French teacher at Trinity, and Elaine Spurlin, both from Montgomery. Dana and Max also spent time visiting with Lila and her husband, Larry Turner, before returning home to Gandy’s Cove.

Mt. Carmel Baptist Church near Eva exceeded their Lottie Moon Christmas Offering goal of $750 and collected $870 for foreign missions. They will be working now toward the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for home missions.

History lesson: the months of February and March start on the same day of the month, except leap year.

Falkville School’s Spring Break is Mar. 27-31.

Visiting with Adell Gibson Tues. afternoon were O’Neal and Jean Parker of Hartselle.

What it was like growing up in the 1940’s and 1950’s: there were no WalMarts. No one carried us camping except maybe a campsite and we paid our own way, no one took up donations for such thing. We carried our own food from home. Our parents always knew where we were. Whenever we played with out friends, our parents would tell us how long to play, such as an hour, we would tell the child’s mother how long we could stay and she would tell us when our play time was over. We would walk to school. I do not ever remember us not going to school when-even it was cold nor getting out of school for holidays. We had two pairs of shoes, one to be worn for school and one pair that were worn only on Sunday.

Memory verse: Proverbs 2:10, “If you do nothing in difficult time, your strength is limited.”
