Funeral for Bill J. Garrett, 87, was Mon., Feb. 27, at 10 a.m. at East Highland Baptist Church with Bro. Walter Blackman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Mr. Garrett died Thur., Feb. 23, 2017, at Huntsville Hospital.  He was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Texas to Edward Andrew Garrett and Birda Elizabeth Estes Garrett.  He was the co-owner of Garrett Erectors and worked in construction. He enjoyed fishing, construction and farming. He loved his church and had a love for coaching Pee Wee Football.  He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Garrett; a son, Craig Garrett (Myra); four daughters, Sharon Hopper (Glenn), Terry Moore (Michael), Donnie Mitchell (Marshall) and Jacqueline Garrett Chittam; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Nick Hamlin, Zack Moses, Blake Garrett, Todd Boyer, Shane Mitchell, Clint Davis and Bryan Moses.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the East Highland Baptist Church Building Fund.
