Hartselle Junior High students honored local superheroes with breakfast and a pep rally Thursday. The students honored local police, fireman and emergency responders. The honorees gathered in the school library for breakfast and then moved into the Pettey Center under cheerleader pom-poms and music played by members of the HHS pep band.
Hartselle police and firemen, Morgan County officers and first responders were seated in a reserved seating section with students standing behind them holding signs with letters spelling out “We love our SUPERHEROES.”
Hartselle Junior High Student Jada Tennyson led the Pledge of Allegiance with the pep band following playing the Star Spangled Banner. HJHS principal Dr. Robbie Smith welcomed those in attendance and wore a Wonder Woman theme sweater as part of the superhero theme.
HJHS cheerleaders led cheers honoring the Hartselle Police Department, Hartselle Fire Department and EMT’s.
Students Aidan Nicholson, Emilee Boster and Zoie Bridgeforth spoke sharing their appreciation for the local superheroes.
The pep rally ended with Dr. Smith again thanking the local superheroes and the officers processed out while the pep band played and the cheerleaders waved pom-poms again. The officers were very appreciative of the students and mentioned how they are so luck to have the community support in Hartselle.
