Helen Beatrice Parker Gandy

Funeral for Helen Beatrice Parker Gandy, 88, of Decatur was Fri., July 22, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ben Hayes officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Cook Cemetery.

Mrs. Gandy died Tues., July 19, 2016, at her residence. She was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Lawrence County to Arthur Jackson Parker and Eula Clementine Stockton Parker. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Decatur. Mrs. Gandy was retired from her work as an administrative assistant with the City of Decatur after 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Waymon Gandy and her parents.

She is survived by a son, Tim Gandy of Decatur; and a brother, Rayburn Parker (Wennell) of Cartersville, Ga.

Pallbearers were the deacons of Southside Baptist Church.
