Danny Carl Vest

Funeral for Danny Carl Vest, 66 of Hartselle was Thur., April 28, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial with military honors was in Hartselle City Cemetery

Mr. Vest died Mon., April 25, 2016, at NHC in Moulton. He was born March 16, 1950, in Phoenix City. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a E-7 SGT First Class after 26 years of service as a member of the 87th Division of the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from the Huntsville City School System where he worked with the Vocational Department and the DARE Program. He was a big Alabama fan and enjoyed fishing with his brothers. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities and events. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Vest and a sister, Carol Vest.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Dean Vest; a daughter, Amy Vest King (Allen); two grandchildren, Wilson Clark King and Maggie Beth King; his mother, Billie Vest; two brothers, John Vest (Trina) and Tim Vest (Latisha); a sister, Connie Vest; special nephew and niece, Chris Dean (Trisha) and Audrey Dean.

Pallbearers were Allen King, Wilson Clark King, Tony McCain, Paul Parker, Ronnie Moore and Louis Bradford.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to First Methodist Church “Good Samaritan Fund.”
