Morgan County Drug Task Force Press Release

Sheriff Ana Franklin reports that on Thursday, September 10th, 2015, Hartselle Police were dispatched to the alley behind Morgan Plaza Shopping Center, in reference to a subject wanting to report a meth lab.  Officers arrived and were met by a female.  The female stated that a friend of hers had been cooking meth behind the shopping center.  Officers discovered items that were consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine.  Officers contacted the Morgan County Drug Task Force.  Agents arrived on scene and spoke with the female.  Agents determined that Allen Jackson Plunkett, 24, was a suspect.  Plunkett was found about a hundred yards away in a residence.  Agents obtained consent to search and discovered three HCL gas generators, empty cold medicine boxes, and syringes.  Agents discovered lye and several plastic bottles that once contained a meth lab scattered around the alley area.  Agents charged Plunkett with the Unlawful Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia.  Plunkett’s bond was set at $15,000.00.  Plunkett remains in the Morgan County Jail.
