Fairview children attend church camp July 21-24

Library board members, Tina Rogers, Jane Hill, Pamela McDonald and Rhona Summerford, extend belated birthday wishes to Kay Farrer. Kay is a library board member and a graduate of Falkville High School, Class of 1952.

Celebrating birthdays in July are Ronna Halbrooks and Teresa Kyle, July 16; Dennett Wood and Lucas Johnson, July 19; Georgia Treece, July 22; Carol Scott, July 25; and Ima Hughes, July 30. They are members of First Baptist Church Falkville.

Family movie night is held every Saturday at 8 p.m. at Jack McCaig Park. The Falkville Library is the sponsor.

Falkville Public Library is conducting a book sale. All types of books will be for sale. Buy yourself a good read.

Fairview: The Grace Place children left for church camp July 21-24 to go to Shocco Springs in Talladega. Forty-one children are scheduled to go.

Fairview is hosting their first annual corn hole tournament benefiting Paraguay Ministries Aug. 22 starting at 9 a.m. It will be held at Fairview for a cost of $10 for 18 and under and $20 for adults. For more information, call 256-784-5642.

Fairview had a group of 15 go to Guatemala for a mission trip July 7-14.They plan to get another group together to go in December.

Everyone is invited to Fairview: The Grace Place for the 100 Year Anniversary Birthday Bash Sept. 12-13, “Celebrating the next 100 years…so the next generation will know.”

First Baptist Falkville held their July meeting at the church with guest speaker George Mills, a World War II Vet and POW. Enjoying a lunch of barbeque with all the fixins’ were Vaughn and Rita Burden, Bro. Greg and Karla Burcham, Martha Teague, Bonnie McGuire, Mike and Deborah Thompson, Dwight and Linda Alldredge, Geraldine Rowe, Barbra Fields, Dorothy Lott, Charlotte Morris, John and Martha Nelson, John Moore, Joe and Fran Edmondson, Mike Tarpley, Bruce and Georgia Treece and grandson Riley, Alfred and Linda Bryan, Patricia Ramey and Margaret Ayre.
