‘I Did It My Way’

“I Did It My Way” was not only the title of a song that Elvis Presley sang during his career. It is also what we want to do at times. When we read about Naaman in II Kings Chapter 5, we find where he was also used to doing things his way. I don’t want to give too much away because you will understand it more by reading about him, but Naaman was a captain of the host of the King of Syria and was a leper. His only hope of being cured came from Israel.

Naaman thought he could buy his healing, and he was outraged when Elisha told him to go wash in the River Jordan. He thought he should receive the royal treatment. But we, just like Naaman, have to realize that God’s way is better than our way. We may not understand why, but God can use anything to accomplish his purposes.
