New pediatrician joins CRMC

A new pediatrician joined the staff of Cullman Regional Medical Center earlier this week.

Dr. Tara Mitchell Fales will begin seeing patients on July 13 at Cullman Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in Professional Office Building Three. Fales, a native of Cullman, earned a degree in healthcare management from the University of Alabama in 2008 and a medical degree in 2012 from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. She completed her residency in June 2015 at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn., where she trained at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Fales looks forward to serving in Cullman.

“I’m so excited to be coming home,” she said. “It has always been my dream to be able to practice medicine in the town I grew up in. I look forward to giving back to my community.”

Fales and her husband, James, reside in Cullman with their 8-month-old daughter. She enjoys hiking, camping, canoeing, attending live music events and spending time with friends and family during her free time.
