Falkville falls to Mars Hill, Hatton

Falkville fell 12-8 to Mars Hill in seven innings Friday despite racking up 10 hits and eight runs during the regional tournament.

Callie Garner took the loss for Falkville, allowing six runs in three and two-thirds innings, walking three and striking out three.

Falkville scored two runs in the first on a sacrifice fly by Maddie White and an RBI single by Kaitlyn McMurray.

Garner went 3-for4 with two doubles, and Makenzie Smith racked up two RBIs with a double and a single. McMurray added three hits and an RBI while Paige Garner added two hits and an RBI.

Falkville 11, Tharptown 9

Falkville bested Tharptown 11-9 in an offensive battle during the regional tournament Friday at the Huntsville Sportsplex.

The teams totaled 27 hits, including eight extra base hits in the game. The Blue Devils would not relinquish the lead as Tharptown was unable to weather a 10-run third inning deficit.

Maddie White recorded the win for Falkville even though she allowed five runs over three and two-third innings. She  walked two and surrendered nine hits.

Falkville’s Paige Garner, Makenzie Smith, Emily Gray and White combined for eight hits and seven RBIs.

The bottom of the first saw Falkville take an early 1-0 lead. Smith started the rally for Falkville with a single, and White doubled, plating Gray.

Falkville stayed on top after taking the lead in the second, scoring two runs on a two-run single by Gray.

Falkville piled on eight more runs in the bottom of the third. Garner’s single got things going, scoring White and Kaitlyn McMurray.

Callie Garner racked up two doubles, and McMurray, Gray, Smith and Cheyenne Wilson earning a double each. Bailey Anders and White also added hits.

Hatton 11, Falkville 1

Falkville fell 11-1 to Hatton Thursday in the regional tournament.

Callie Garner took the loss for Falkville, lasting just two and one-third innings while walking four and allowing three runs.

Falkville’s lone run of the ballgame came in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Maddie White.

Garner also singled for the Blue Devils.

Falkville 4, Mars Hill 3

An impressive performance from Callie Garner led Falkville to a 4-3 win Thursday over Mars Hill during the first round of the regional tournament.

Garner came up huge at the plate, racking up two RBIs on two hits for Falkville. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the seventh inning, helping the Blue Devils take the lead for good.

Paige Garner singled to get on base in the seventh. She then advanced to second on a sacrifice fly by Bailey Anders.

Maddie White recorded the win for Falkville. Shee allowed three runs over six innings, striking out one, walking three and surrendering seven hits.

Other hitters included Makenzie Smith and Cheyenne Wilson.
