A concert at Hartselle High School Jan. 17 will benefit Hartselle Junior High School’s arts department and the Wounded Warrior Family Foundation.

The event, hosted by L&V Booking of Hartselle, will feature Kip Traylor, Stevie Jewel, The Adam Doleac Band and Blair Hanks.

Vickie Blagburn, who owns the booking company with her daughter and HHS junior, Lissa, said they hope to get a good crowd at the school to help with these causes. Blagburn’s other daughter, Katie, is also a student at HJHS.

“My husband, Kenneth, is a disabled veteran. So WWFF is very near to my heart,” Blagburn said. “My whole family loves Hartselle City Schools and their staff, principals and teachers. Three years ago, both the schools and the WWFF helped us after my husband had a heart attack and could no longer work. This is my ‘thank you’ to both the Hartselle schools and the WWFF as a way to pay them back for their help and support.”

Tickets to the event are $30 on eventbrite.com with proceeds being split equally between paper for the HJHS arts department and the Wounded Warrior Family Foundation, based out of Montgomery. Meet and greets are included in the prices of the tickets, where attendees can meet and get to know the entertainers.

Kip Traylor

From Montgomery’s Best Kept Secret to multiple Grammy nominations,  Kip Traylor’s catchy songwriting, powerful vocal tone and honest lyrics are capturing listeners from coast to coast.

Igniting with her humble beginnings at local venues and open mic nights, this up and coming singer songwriter has taken the blues world by storm with her 2012 LP, “A Lot of Life to Live.” Now back on the road and preparing to hit the studio again, Traylor is poised to turn herself into the genre’s hottest rising star.

Traylor landed in the Montgomery Advertiser as the city’s Best Local Club Act in 2005.

Influenced by a wide variety of masterful songwriters such as John Mayer, Etta James, Ray Charles, Norah Jones, Adele, Ben Harper and others, Traylor crafts a sultry brand of bluesy rock with jazzy punctuation. Traylor is also a proud and strong supporter of the Wounded Warrior Family Foundation.

Stevie Jewel

Stevie Jewel embarked on her performing career at a very young age with training at the Royal Conservatory of Canada, the Atlanta Academy of Music and at the Las Vegas Academy for the Performing Arts. She is one of the youngest performers ever to have performed all over the legendary Vegas strip at such venues as The Venetian Hotel, Casbar at the Sahara Hotel, Montelago Village, the Stratosphere, the Plaza Hotel and the Fashion Show Mall.

Stevie’s dynamic voice and abilities carried her to a command performance for the President of the United States during Christmas at the White House. She also sang at the coveted Christmas Tree Lighting event in Washington.

Currently, Jewel is living in Nashville creating content for her YouTube fan base and preparing to record a new album, which is set to release in 2015.

The Adam Doleac Band

Adam Doleac infuses his music with so much passion and soul when he sings that you’d swear it’s something he’s been doing his entire life. The Hattiesburg, Miss., native was surrounded by music and got his first drum kit as a 2-year-old from his dad, who played drums in his own high school band as a teen.

Doleac’s talent on the field landed him a scholarship to Southern Miss, where he played college baseball, won several conference championships, made four regional appearances and advanced to the College World Series.

After trying out for some pro teams, Adam turned his sights back on music. In 2012, the band laid down their first tracks for their debut EP, “Travel On,” a five-song collection of tunes that included the title track, which was the first song Adam ever penned. They followed that up with the CD, “Something About Nothing,” that included the powerful single, “One Day,” and the fan favorite “Like A Cigarette.”

Blaire Hanks

Blaire Hanks had a great appreciation for many genres of music and began writing songs by age 15. He developed a fan base that encouraged him to pursue his love for music.

Hanks met some writers and made a connection with a singer/songwriter named Johnny T. They collaborated on a few songs and Johnny decided to cut a song they wrote together, “Buzzin.”

Hanks then released his first single as an artist to iTunes in January 2014, “Show You Off.” His debut EP recently released in May.

Blaire has had the opportunity to open for Florida Georgia Line and Dustin Lynch.
