Man charged in auto burglary cases

A Hartselle man has been charged in three separate incidents of auto burglaries since September 2014.

Jeremy Taylor, 41, of 41 Taylorville Private Drive in Hartselle was questioned at the Hartselle Police Department Nov. 18 and was later charged with three counts of burglary of an automobile.  Taylor was given a bond of $25,000 for each count for a total of $75,000.

The Hartselle Police Department was investigating several reports of auto burglaries within the city that has been occurring since September 2014. Investigators linked Taylor to auto burglaries that occurred at the Hartselle Athletic Club on Sept. 3, Kroger on Nov. 7 and East Highland Baptist Church on Nov. 16.

The investigation continues and further charges could be filed in relation to other auto burglaries that occurred during this time.

“Hartselle PD wants to remind citizens to always secure vehicles and keep valuables hidden out of sight,” said public information officer Lt. Justin Barley.
