New Center Baptist to sponsor golf tourney

Oftentimes, we may find someone we know – or ourselves – who is in a place where there is no hope.

We even think about giving up on people or the situation because we feel that a change is not possible. In Romans, 15:4 we find, “for whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

We must read and study our Bible daily to increase our trust that God’s will is best for us. God can change what seems impossible, giving new life and hope.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to the families and friends of Dee Proctor, Opal Bridges, Hobson Ward and Robbie Coffey.

Sally Cheatham and Kody Vest remembered Kenneth (K.V.) Vest who was born Sept. 26, 1959, by placing the beautiful flowers on the communion table of New Center Baptist Church Sun., Sept. 27, in his memory.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Jean Johnson, Somerville Baptist Youth Pastor Steve Cheuvront, Jordyn Grubbs and Anna Beth White, all on Oct. 1, Jerry Creel on Oct. 2, Heather Johnson Pullam and Terry Thornton, both on Oct. 3, Marie Bartlett on Oct. 4, Kasonya Briggs, Steve Aguado, Kim Grubbs, Dan Ratje and Evelene Teague, all on Oct. 5, David Blankenship, Beth Ledlow Bramlett, Daniel Necaise and Kylie Hendrix, all on Oct. 6, April Dean, Nikki Motes, Jonathan McKelvy and Todd Russell, all on Oct. 7, Lucille Kerwood, Brooklyn Mast, Richard Herbert, Stephen Keeling, Eric Smith and Sylvia Tucker, all on Oct. 8.

Happy anniversary wishes to Hoyt and Carolyn Bracken on Oct. 6.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Dwight Alldredge who celebrated his birthday recently from Nathan, Javon, Jarrod and Whitney.

New Center Baptist Church will sponsor a golf tournament at Quail Creek Golf Course Sat., Oct. 11, at 7:45 a.m., including a Chick-Fil-A lunch and homemade ice cream. The entry fee is $60 per person, $240 per team.

Proceeds will go to the church mission fund. For more information, contact Pat Halbrooks.
