Falkville food pantry offers opportunity to multiple towns
Carpenter’s Cabinet, located in the Railroad District of Falkville, is making way for hundreds of families to receive meals in the Hartselle, Danville, Vinemont, Falkville and Eva communities.
Director Chris Warnick established the Carpenter’s Cabinet in 2010 as a way to help those who were food deprived, after growing up in a poorer family. Since 2010 their outreach has grown tremendously.
“Our first year we helped just under 200 people, progressively increasing to help over 1,400 last year,” Warnic said. “We have had steady, positive growth since inception.”
The organizations workers are all volunteers. The Carpenter’s Cabinet is currently working on expanding to another location as well as the pantry in Falkville.
“Holly Pond in Cullman County is in the works to receive a food pantry venue,” Warnick said. “We are always looking for opportunities and projects to help others.”
The Falkville Carpenter’s Cabinet is open Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The non-profit organization is solely funded by food donations and financial contributions. Food donation suggestions include non-perishable canned goods, peanut butter, jelly, dried beans, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and spaghetti sauce.
