JV Baseball Roundup for April 3

JV Baseball

Hartselle (JV) 11,

Huntsville 3

Hartselle’s JV Tigers collected

16 hits as they defeated

Huntsville, 11-3, in a game

played on March 22.

Will Foote paced the winners

with three hits. He had a

double and two singles, two

RBIs and scored twice. Caleb

Myers contributed three singles

and three RBIs, Jason

Peebles had two singles,

three RBIs and scored twice,

Austin Parker had a double

and single. Three RBIs and

scored two runs, Jake

Chaney singled twice and

scored two runs, Collin

Blackwood singled and

scored two runs and Brady

Netherton, Blake Lowe and

Seth Ballew each singled.

Netherton went the distance

on the mound and was the

game winner. He allowed

three runs on seven hits while

striking out eight batters and

walking three.

Hartselle (JV) 12,

Russellville 7

Will Foote knocked in four

runs with a home run and

seven of his teammates had

hits as Hartselle’s JV Tigers

defeated Russellville, 12-7, in

a game played on March 24.

Jake Chaney had three singles

and scored twice, Brady

Netherton doubled and singled

and scored a run, Jaxon

Peebles had an RBI single

and scored twice, Caleb

Myers singled, had two RBIs

and scored a run, Austin

Parker singled and scored

two runs and Lane Anders

and Collin Blackwood each

had a single.

Ben Kimbrough was the

winning pitcher. He allowed

four runs on two hits while

striking out four and walking

three in two innings. James

Edde pitched four innings in

relief, allowing five runs on

eight hits while striking out

three batters and walking

three.

Hillcrest 3, Hartselle (JV) 1

Hartselle’s JV Tigers came

up short at the plate as they

lost to Hillcrest, 3-1, on March

24.

Brady Netherton and Will

Foote each had a single and

Austin Parker knocked in a

run for Hartselle.

Blake Lowe was the losing

pitcher. He allowed three runs

on seven hits while striking

out three batters and waking

three.

Freshman Baseball

Hartselle 5, Russellville 1

Hartselle collected seven

hits in a 5-1 win over

Russellville on March 21.

Skylar Holland paced the

win with a double, single and

four RBIs.Trevor Oakes had a

pair of singles and scored a

run, Chandler Stinson had a

double, Will House had an

RBI single and Isaac Taylor

singled and scored two runs.

Holland was the winning

pitcher. He allowed one run

on four hits while striking out

four batters and walking four.

Weston Krobe pitched an

inning in relief, allowing no

runs on one hit while striking

out one batter.

Hartselle 8, Russellville 3

Andrew Nuss and Kyle

Eddy each doubled to lead

Hartselle over Russellville, 8-

3, in the nightcap of a doubleheader

on March 21.

James Edde had a two-RBI

single, Andrew Nuss singled

and scored twice, Skylar

Holland had an RBI single

and scored a run, and Trace

Carpenter and Will Howse

each singled.

Eddie was the winning

pitcher. He allowed three runs

on five hits while striking out

11 batters.

Hoover 13, Hartselle 7

Hartselle lost to Hoover, 13-

7, in a game played on March

26.

Hartselle collected seven

hits. Connor Landers had

three singles and scored four

runs. Skylar Holland doubled

and had three RBIs, Eric

Stephenson singled in a run

and Will Howse had a single.

Edde was the losing pitcher.

He allowed six runs on six

hits while striking out three

batters and walking one.

Holland pitched five innings in

relief, allowing seven runs on

six hits wile striking out seven

batters and walking four.

Hartselle 9, Grissom 2

Hartselle collected 12 hits in

a 9-2 win over Grison on

March 26.

Skylar Holland had three

doubles, a single, two RBIs

and scored two runs. Andrew

Nuss had a double and single,

Connor Landers and A.J.

Robinson each had a double,

and Isaac Taylor, Trace

Carpenter, Trevor Oakes and

Chandler Stinson each singled.

Will Howse was the winning

pitcher. He allowed one run

on one hit while striking out

one batter and walking one in

three innings. Robinson

pitched four innings in relief,

allowing two runs on four hits

while striking out six and

walking two.

JV Softball

Hartselle JV 10, Section 1

Hartselle’s JV Lady Tigers

collected 10 hits from seven

players as they defeated

Section, 10-1, in a game

played on March 21.

Hartselle hitters were

Kaitlyn Spangler with two singles,

three RBIs and two runs

scored, Brianna Wallace with

a double and single, an RBI

and one run scored, Gracie

Poe with a double, Rose

Braun with two singles and a

run scored, Anna Stinson

with a RBI single, Makayla

Hayes with an RBI single and

two runs scored and Kennadi

Hogan with a RBI single and

a run scored.

Poe was the winning pitcher.

She allowed one run on three

hits while striking out three

and walking one.

Huntsville 5, Hartselle JV 3

Hartselle’s JV Lady Tigers

managed only six hits in a 5-

3 loss to Huntsville on March

21. Lindsey Robinson had a

two-RBI double and scored a

run, Jordan Finn doubled,

Mary Jane Wooley added two

singles and scored a run and

Emily Crow and Abby Vinzant

each singled.

Vinzant was the losing pitcher.

She allowed five runs on

eight hits while striking out

three batters and walking

one.
