Donald Ray Green

Funeral for Donald Ray Green, 74, of Falkville will be Sun., March 2, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dean Elrod officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in New Hope North Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., March 1, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Green died Thur., Feb. 27, 2014 at his residence. He was born Dec. 22, 1939, in Morgan County to Clifford F. Green and Oma P. Foshee Green. He was a member of New Hope North Baptist Church. Over the years, he enjoyed preparing the weekly church bulletin, teaching the Adult Sunday School class and was in charge of scheduling the special gospel singing groups each month. Mr. Green served in the U.S. Navy and was a Mason. He was a 1958 graduate of Decatur High School. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Robertson Green of Falkville; a daughter, Terri Ann Tatum (Bill) of Huntsville; a step-daughter, Michelle Shaw of Vinemont; two brothers, Ronald Green (Joyce) of Hartselle and Randall Green of Decatur; a sister, a sisters, Carolyn Colquett (Guy) of Red Level; three grandchildren, James Casey Moore, Ashley Thompson and Sydney Shaw; one great-grandchild, Adalyn Grace Thompson.
