Handgun safety classes set

The Hartselle Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association will have two gun safety classes instructed by Sgt. Randy Adams Nov. 2 and 16 at the Hartselle Utilities conference room.

Classes will be from 8 a.m. to noon each day. The class costs $25 and is tax deductible.

The first three hours will be classroom instructions on gun safety and proper usage. The last hour will be live fire training with handguns only.

Adams is a 16-year veteran of the Hartselle Police Academy. He oversees all training for the department and is a certified firearms instructor and trainer.

HCPAAA helps educate the public in the practices and procedures of the Hartselle Police Academy. It helps the community to maintain a supportive and interactive relationship with the Police Academy, which in turn creates more public awareness for the people of Hartselle.

If you, or someone you know, is unfamiliar with handling and shooting a firearm properly this is an excellent opportunity to work with the trained professionals of the Hartselle Police Department.
