Danville splits opening day tri-match

Danville opened its volleyball season 1-1 at Pope John Paul II Catholic School in Huntsville Thursday afternoon.

Madison Academy defeated Danville 25-8, 25-17 while the Lady Hawks defeated Catholic 25-18, 21-25, 15-13.

Kheala Roberts led the Hawk attack with 16 kills and eight digs. Sydni Shelton had an outstanding all-around performance with 10 kills, 13 assists, four blocks and nine digs.

Breann Tuck had 15 assists and two aces while Andrea Carter led the team with five blocks.

Kellee Stiles also added a pair of aces while Sloan Lindsey had 15 digs.
