Lillian Knight Lawrence

 

Lillian Knight Lawrence, age 80, went to her heavenly home Saturday, July 27, 2013 following a brief illness. She was born August 14, 1932 and was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Billy Knight of Milton, TN and her parents Layne and Laura Hancock Griffin of Smithville, TN. She is survived by her husband of ten years, J.B. Lawrence of Hartselle, AL. Three sons, Ronnie Knight and his wife Rosaline, Ricky Knight and his wife Phyllis, and Randy Knight and his wife Debbie all of Murfreesboro. Two stepchildren, Jay Lawrence and his wife Martha of Hartselle, AL, and Barbara Gray and her husband Thomas of Decatur, AL. Four grandchildren, Rhonda, Robyn, Griffin, and Spenser, three great-grandchildren Grey, Ethan, and Oscar, three step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Milton Cemetery. Pastor Wally Blackman and Pastor David Turner will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pall bearers will be Wilson Martin, Larry Stewart, Keith Shaver, Dan Hancock, Griffin Knight, Spenser Knight, Tyler Bartlett, and Drew Bartlett.

Mrs. Knight was a member of East Highland Baptist Church in Hartselle, AL and was a former member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church at Milton. She retired in 1995 following 27 years as secretary at Lascassas School. She was a very active person and loved to be around people. She enjoyed many activities including gardening, cooking, and traveling, and was an accomplished pianist and avid lover of music.

Memorials may be made to the Milton Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund in memory of Mrs. Knight.
