Betsy Blair Pultz Hauser

A memorial service for Betsy Blair Pultz Hauser, 87, of Decatur will be at First Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Sun., July 14, at 3:30 p.m. with the Revs. Don Hass and Chip Miller officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be at First Presbyterian Church Sun., July 14, at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Hauser died July 10, 2013, in Moulton. She was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Millboro Springs, as Virginia, to Emma Alva Lamb Pultz and the late Albert Plummer Pultz.

Mrs. Hauser was a resident of Decatur, since 1956. She graduated Valedictorian from Millboro High School in Millboro Springs. She married John A. Hauser from 1949 until his death in 2002. Mrs. Hauser was a longtime member of Decatur Woman’s Club, serving as President and chaired many committees, meeting the needs of the community. She was a member of Dig N’ Delve Garden Club, serving as President, and winning awards in flower arranging competitions. Mrs. Hauser was also an avid gardener. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served in ministries and was a member of the Blanche Jones Sunday school class. She also attended the Tues. Bible class, a community Bible study, for many years. Her loving commitment to her family and service to the church was central to her life. She was cherished by family and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Winifred Pultz and Frances Pultz Heizer; and two brothers, William Plummer Pultz and David Revercomb Pultz, all of Virginia.

Mrs. Hauser is survived by a son, Gary Hauser and wife Debi of Ruston, La.; two daughters, Barbara Miller and husband Chip of Macon, Ga. and Teresa Quinn and husband Kent of Decatur; and 11 grandchildren, Brian Hauser and wife Lauren, Brent Hauser, John David Miller and wife Katie, Julie Miller Johnston and husband Kenny, Sarah Miller Taylor and husband Brant, Rebecca Miller, Stephen Miller, Emily Quinn, Adam Quinn, David Quinn, Jacob Quinn and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Memorials may be made to Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, 3802 Spring Ave SW, Decatur, AL 35603.
