Rev. Robert Donald Redmond

Funeral for the Rev. Robert Donald Redmond, 79, of Birmingham was Tues., April 30, at 11 a.m. at the Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham.

Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.

Rev. Redmond died Sat., April 27, 2013. He was born March 13, 1934, to Clyde and Clara Redmond. He demonstrated daily his love of the Lord Jesus, his family and others. He graduated from Samford University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. As a retired minister, he was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. He was a former minister of education at Raleigh Ave Baptist Church for three years, minister of education and administra-tion at Vinesville Baptist Church for three years and South Roebuck Baptist Church for 23 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Clara Redmond; brothers, Sparks and Perry Redmond; sister, Mary R. Arendale; and granddaughter, Megan Nicole Redmond.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Wear Redmond; four sons, Robert D. Redmond Jr. and wife Darla, Wesley C. Redmond and wife Kimberly, Jeffrey L. Redmond and wife Kelley and Matthew B. Redmond and wife Bethany; ten grandchildren; and a brother, William “Bill” Redmond.
