Falkville baseball finishes 3-1 week

Falkville finished its 3-1 week of baseball with a 9-6 loss to Addison Monday afternoon at home.

The Blue Devils tried to rally from a 9-2 deficit by scoring four runs in the seventh inning, but it proved to be too much to overcome.

Hunter Woodall, Adam Keenum, Ryan Bradford and Alston Howard all finished 2-for-4 on the afternoon. Nic Martin and Bryant Hester also had hits.

Keenum, Tanner Evans, Bradford and Martin all drove in runs.

Bradford took the loss, allowing six earned runs on five hits and four walks with a strikeout. Evans allowed three unearned runs on seven hits and two walks with a strikeout.

Falkville 15-8, New Hope 7-6

The Blue Devils’ bats came alive against New Hope to sweep a doubleheader Saturday.

In the first game, Falkville belted 16 hits to beat New Hope 15-7.

Adam Keenum and Hunter Woodall each went 4-for-5 with two RBIs. Woodall scored four times while Keenum scored three times.

Tyler Woodall also went 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Tanner Evans, Ryan Bradford, Alston Howard, Nic Martin, Ryan Sullivan and Bryant Hester all collected hits for the Blue Devils. Sullivan also had two RBIs while the rest had one RBI apiece.

Ryan Bradford earned the win, allowing two earned runs on three hits with three strikeouts. Blake Bradford and Dallas Mayer each had two strikeouts.

In the second game, Hunter Woodall and Evans led the way with two hits and two runs scored apiece. Howard and Mayer also collected hits.

Keenum pitched the last three and one-third innings to get the win for Falkville. He struck out four batters.
