Cooking tips

•Use tomato paste on hamburgers and hot dogs instead of catsup.
•Recycle small plastic bottles, (remove labels from the container). Put tomato paste into them and put name of item on it.
•If you are using mustard and catsup to make hamburgers or hot dogs or any other recipe that calls for these ingredients. Blend the two together and place them into a container and label it.

Company tea

1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
6 quarts of boiling water
2 to 3 tea bags
3 cups sugar
Tie spices in a bag. Place into boiling water. Cover and steam for 20 minutes, remove tea bags and add sugar. Stir well.

Stuffed figs

1 box dried figs
1 package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Soak figs in water for 1 to 2 hours, drain off water from figs. Cut each fig in the center. Blend softened cream cheese and nuts, put in center of figs and close back together.

Peach salad

1 can sliced peaches
1 package peach gelatin
1 quart vanilla ice cream
Drain peaches, reserving juice. Add enough liquid to make one cup. Heat and dissolve gelatin. Add ice cream and peaches. Chill until firm.
Perfume samples: Take the perfume samples from magazines and turn them into book markers. They will give your book a sweet scent. Or put them into your lingerie drawer.
Saving money tip: Save money by using grocery bags instead of buying trash bags for waste basket and trash bag liners.

Pickled eggs

Juice from pickles
3 to 4 boiled eggs
Place eggs into juice and place into a jar and keep in refrigerator. Eggs are good to use in potato salad.

Cucumber relish

1/2 cup sweet onions
1/2 cup red peppers
1/2 cup cucumbers, seeded and peeled
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
Dice all ingredients and bring to a boil in saucepan.

Lemon pie

1 package softened cream cheese
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 can lemon pie filling
1 chocolate graham cracker pie shell
Beat cream cheese in a bowl, adding milk and lemon juice. Add pie filling and stir until creamy. Spoon into pie crust. Refrigerate several hours.
